October 28, 2011: Gartner Inc. has positioned Xerox Corporation in the leader’s quadrant for 2011 in the magic quadrant. The Xerox Corporation is in the managed print Services (MPS) across the globe.
The research tool developed by Gartner, called as Magic Quadrant provides a representation of the current market including the maturity of the market and the various vendors relative position in the market place. It also examines the companies on the basis of their completeness of their vision and also on the capability of the company to execute.
Xerox has been the market leader in the MPS segment over the years. The services offered by Xerox help organizations to achieve reduction in operating cost up to 30 per cent. The cost reduction is achieved with the use of new options like print governance, which provides users with automated guidelines that navigate them to cost effective and energy efficient option. Xerox helps their customers to simplify print and IT management by making use of services from ACS, a Xerox company and partnering with Cisco.
Xerox was placed in the leaders position based their scoring on the different evaluation criteria. The criteria included completeness of vision and their ability to execute. The report says that the performances of the leaders are good and that they have a clear vision. According to the report experience is the main factor that differentiates leaders from others.
Xerox attributes their ability to understand their customer needs to their leadership position in the MPS segment. According to Stephen Cronin, president, Xerox Global Document Outsourcing, innovation keeps them ahead of competition and their services help customers to reduce cost, save time and add value to their business.
Xerox uses evaluation based on six sigma to assess their daily work processes and then develop strategies that will offer cost reduction. Xerox also offers its services to small and mid sized companies using their channel partners.

The revenue for third quarter was up by 3 per cent with revenue of $5.6 million. The revenue from services has increased by 6 per cent, which is a result of growth in business process and document management. The revenue from services has grown by 33 per cent when compared to the same from 2010.
